This Hawkeye was suppose to have come out some time ago (Rocket Raccoon wave I believe), but was never released and instead got the other Hawkeye which wasn’t that bad, but I’m not that big of fan of that version. Now that we finally get him, I feel a bit let down. Maybe it was the long wait? I don’t know, but there’s just something about this figure’s proportions that just throw it off.

Mold wise, it does use the old Rocket Raccoon Hawkeye mold (duh!!), with changes to his arms and lower legs, plus added accessories such as the mantle he wears on top of his upper torso (the quiver and bow are the same). People have reported that the mantle interferes with the quiver of arrows from staying on. Personally I did not notice it being a problem and it did not fall off. So I guess it really depends. As for articulation it is pretty much the same as the Rocket Raccoon version, so I won’t really elaborate much other than that it’s decent and the lower legs do have a swivel at mid thigh just above the boots. Paint job is good as it has been for this entire wave so far. I haven’t really received a badly painted figure so far, so major kudos to Hasbro for realizing they needed more quality in the paint department. The plastic also has been very good in all the figures I’ve received so far. Also this figure comes with the BAF torso for Odin. Which is huge. My guess he will be as big as Thor. Also be careful pulling out the bow as it is tucked in the plastic so don’t break it when removing from packaging!

As for the proportions on this figure the upper body seems fine, but for some reason the legs just feel off, especially the lower legs. The boot cuffs just feel way over sized. and then when you compare that to the size of the foot, it just looks ridiculous. The feet just feel way too small for this figure. When I tried to pose it, I had difficulty with the balance as it would either tip forward or back if it wasn’t set just right. Bummer because it totally affects the entire figure and which is why while I wanted and anticipated something better, I was a bit let down. Overall I give this figure a solid 3. A bit of a let down with the lower legs, but everything else was okay. Do I recommend it? Maybe or maybe not, it really depends. If you got the old figure (toybiz), just keep that. It’s not a bad figure and imho feels like a better one than this one. If you don’t have a Hawkeye in this version? I’d pick it up. So there you go.

Here’s where this Hawkeye goes wrong… firstly, the gummy plastic had mine severely warped in the package. You might escape that. What you won’t escape is the left arm belonged to Winter Soldier first, and it’s too long. Also, the hand was designed to hold a gun that Mr Eye doesn’t come with, but it won’t hold the bow he does come with… and the right hand was the arrow hand, so it won’t hold the bow very well either. You’ll need some blue tack or clear rubber bands to get Clint to hold on to his signature weapon. Es no bueno. I also hate the way his crotch flap sits on his hips. In most other respects, he’s a decent Hawkeye.

Glad that we finally get a proper “classic” Hawkeye. The robotic arm is in reference to dark Hawkeye, and although many complaint about that one arm being longer than the other, unless you pose your figure with both arms straight down; you will not notice it.Head sculpt is very good, and with Bucky cap’s body mold, you really can’t go wrong.Accessories are pretty much what you would expect from a Hawkeye figure, and although some may prefer that he comes with removable arrows, i for one don’t really care for it.In the end, at $20 this is definitely a worthy purchase.
