This is an updated version of GTA: San Andreas. For those that are familiar with the previous versions on the PS2 & Original Xbox, GTA:SA took the areas that were lacking in GTA3 & GTA: Vice City & expanded on those. Everything from the original title is in this version. The newer things that it adds options before starting the game. You can also redefine controls. The one feature I like that they added was when you fail a mission, a pop up screen asks if you’d like to retry the mission from the last known check point instead of having to go back to the original location to restart the mission. The Xbox 360 version however, has some sound issues that I’ve noticed right off hand. First off, sometimes when you choose to restart a mission from a check point, when they cut scene plays, sometimes it’s without sound. Another issue is that sometimes when you are riding around in a vehicle listening to a radio station, sometimes the track you’re listening to will skip around. One second, a song will play & the next second, the song will have just ended. If you’re a fan of the GTA series, the sound issues are just minor glitches.

I hope that in time, they will come out with HD releases of GTA3, GTA: Vice City, GTA: Liberty City Stories, & GTA Vice City Stories. That would make an awesome complete collection to the Xbox 360 GTA titles that are already available.

They ruined our favorite game. Huge audio gaps & cut dialogue, glitched radio that skips good songs in the middle, but then will play the more irritating songs all the way through over and over. This is maddening. Tom Petty & Ozzy’s songs are gone altogether. The damn game didn’t have enough tracks as it was. Prostitutes have no audio at all now, the car just bounces soul-lessly in silence then she gets out & walks away. Lame, guys. Really, really lame. You have to adjust the ridiculous new control scheme to original on the menu, but even so movement and locking on feels floaty, awkward and nerfed. I have no lock-on with firearms at all and have to free aim. Hand to hand moves are missing also. Especially the moves you learn in the gym, the ground and pound? *gone* .. What pisses me off most is they callusly removed the bird’s eye camera view that swept thru the landscape, so now hanging out at my favorite spots only has one angle, unless you manually move it yourself, and it remains up too close and won’t pan back far enough. Dull. Characters look absolutely hideous for some reason, somehow everyone is 10x uglier than on the Ps2. Scenes where CJ starts cussing have the audio cut out abruptly, and you watch the characters animate in silence. Horrible. Also for those that got good at entering codes on the fly in the midst of fighting, *they often don’t work, and you die* YOU CALL THIS AN UPGRADE? This is a chopped up, watered down overly-censored downgrade that goes backwards, no improvement whatsoever. yet another quick cheap cash-in for the video game industry. Rockstar, you are a damned disgrace, & you ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Now I have to find another Ps2 online to buy. Thanks for ruining my favorite, you pathetic money-grubbing punks. I want my $20 back. This ain’t worth two cents and should’ve never been released. A blatant rip off & slap in the face to long time fans. Proves once again how cheap and greedy the industry has become in the last decade.

This was one of the best gta games of all time. The ps2 version was outstanding. This one could’ve been better. I didn’t like it on the 360. I honestly think the ps2 version was way better. Since it’s a great game I’ll give this version three stars.
